SOLDIERS PRAYER

by Justin Smith
(Clear Spring MD.)

My son is getting ready to deploy to Afghanistan on April 6, 2011. He's been in the USMC since 2001.

His friend wrote a nice prayer for him. It goes:

Dear Lord,

The time has come for me to join the fight,
Please bless our nation and help us unite.

Be with my children as they don't quite understand,
Why I must go to this far away land.

Give my wife strength and courage to run the household,
And guide my children, to do what they're told.

Lord I am scared, please give my heart ease,
and protect us all, as we head over seas.

We fight for our freedoms, we so dearly cherish,
Please give us the strength, so that evil will perish.

The presence of our enemies we will not fear,
For the blessings from you lord, will shelter us here.

Be with our friends and family back home while we're away,
Protect me and my comrades, in the Lord's name I pray.....

Amen.

Justin Smith

Dedicated to Sgt. D Wright from his friend Justin Smith, CLEAR SPRING MD.

Sgt. Wright is stationed in California with his wife, 2 sons and daughter. I have removed their names and ages to protect their privacy from anyone who might wish them ill.

We pray for his safe return, as we do for all our service men and women. We wanted to let him know how we love him and how proud we are of him.

We don't have much in life, but we do have love of our family which nobody can break.

From his Dad, sister Karla and her husband and children, step-mother-in-law, Charlotte, Veron, Vickie, Keith, and all the Wright Clan. Be safe and we'll see you when you get back to the States.

I have removed more of the details about this Marine's family in order to protect him and them.

We wish him and all his fellow Marines a safe and successful deployment. Godspeed. Semper Fi.

Dear Sgt. Wright and Justin

I too pray that the good Lord shines his grace on you and those you love. I pray you find strength each day.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the sacrifices you make. I pray for you not to be too scared, and I'm sorry there are wars that take our children, our brothers and sisters, mothers and daughters.

Please try to stay strong as I hope your families are also able. I pray for your safe return.

May God Bless You and those you love.

Sincerely,
Ana
