McCain's 100 Years in Iraq

Remember the flap about John McCain's "100 years in Iraq" comment? No doubt you'll hear it again before the election.

During the primary season, the same radical left-wing group responsible for the cowardly smear against General Petraeus aired an ad featuring a mother with her infant son on her lap, asking John McCain, "When you talked about 100 years in Iraq, were you counting on Alex? Because if you were, you can't have him."

If you missed it, here it is:

While on the surface, this seems a clever response to McCain, and no doubt will resonate with those who oppose the global war on terror, perhaps that mom should talk to Cindy Sheehan. Someone should point out to her that once that young man turns 18, he can join up if he wants to, and there's not a thing she can do about it.

A Marine Corps wife has posted her response, with her infant son sitting in her lap. Notice the glow on the American flag in the background, with the light coming through it. Nicely done.

And this mom has it right. She promises to teach her son the "strength and responsibility to protect this great country" - something that, sadly, baby Alex may never have the opportunity to learn.

Semper Fi - great job from the Marines at Chandler's Watch.
