Earned the right to salute the flag

I don't really care what the regulations state regarding saluting of our Flag.

I fought for it, I'll salute it. Seems fairly simple to me.

The fact that some boneheads in DC say it's ok for veterans to salute their Flag doesn't matter to me.

Joe,

Thank you for your service. I agree that our veterans have earned the right to salute the flag they served and fought for.

I'm glad that Congress passed the new law, though, because while our veterans have earned the right to salute her, many are concerned about proper flag etiquette, which is set forth in the law. Therefore, Congress simply added language to the law that makes it "proper flag etiquette" for veterans to do what many have been doing for years.

Vets Salute The Flag
by: Anonymous

Veterans should not only be able to salute during the national anthem, but taps at a funeral, the flag passing in review....anytime the flag should be saluted by a uniformed military soldier.

We all as vets paid the price....we should be allowed to salute.

I will anyway.......the flag is my heart. Who would stop me?
