Barack Obama and King George III
Barack Obama's actions since taking office are eerily reminiscent of those of King George III, whose actions caused the American colonists to start the American Revolution.
The colonists set forth their grievances in the Declaration of Independence for all the world to see. In reading the colonists' grievances, I suddenly had a better understanding of what drove them to sever the ties to King George III and the British homeland.
I think you'll see a lot of similarities between the colonists' greivances, and those being voiced by many Americans today.
Follow along, as Thomas Jefferson enumerates the tyrannical actions of King George III and we compare them to the actions of Barack Obama:
“He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.
“He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.”
Fast forward to 2010: Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed into law Arizona’s new immigration enforcement law. The Obama Administration filed a federal lawsuit to “suspend its enforcement.”

“He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.”
How many “midnight votes” have been undertaken in Congress since Obama took office, designed to cram through legislation that members of Congress had not even been provided the required three days to read?

“He has . . . obstruct[ed] the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners . . . . "
Although the complaint about Obama's immigration policy today is exactly opposite the colonists' complaint about George III. Their complaint was that he was making it difficult for people to immigrate to America.
Today, our complaint is that the Obama Administration refuses to secure and defend our borders or enforce our immigration laws. Instead, it is allowing thousands to stream into the country illegally, where they bring crime, corruption, gangs, and drugs, and become an economic burden, subjecting lawful residents to even greater taxes.
Obama is obstructing Arizona’s new immigration enforcement law. And he has granted "amnesty" via Presidential proclamation (which he has no authority to do) to millions of illegal aliens already on American soil, rendering useless the nation’s laws on immigration and naturalization.
Why? Because they will make up a large group he believes will vote for his socialist policies that are designed to keep them dependent on the government and him in power.
The growing tendency to indulge Hispanics by teaching them in Spanish, printing government forms in Spanish, allowing them to “presiona dos” for Espanol, is NOT designed to encourage them to integrate into our culture and become Americans.
While pandering to them that it is embracing their culture, our government's policy is deliberately designed specifically to keep them subservient. Do they not realize this? Most will join the entitlement (welfare) class, dependent on government handouts because they will always be relegated to lower-paying jobs since they don’t speak English.
(In the height of hypocrisy, I recently received a U.S. government blog e-mail written entirely in Spanish, inviting participation in a contest to “celebrate America!” Who are we kidding? If we’re going to celebrate America, let’s do it in English, the language of America!)

“He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, . . . “
The Obama Justice Department dismissed prosecution of New Black Panthers for voter intimidation, despite clear, videotaped evidence, causing one Justice Department attorney to resign after being instructed not to comply with a lawful subpoena, and others to report instructions that voter intimidation suits will not be filed by this Administration against blacks if the victims are white.
Did you immediately think “equal justice under the law,” which blacks in this country have pursued for decades? Did you immediately think, “This is blatant racial discrimination?”
Our nation’s first (half-) black president is going to allow his Justice Department to undo all the civil rights gains made by blacks in this country during the past 50 years, by instituting blatant reverse racism?
Racism is racism, regardless of which direction it takes. If people want equal protection and equal justice under the law, they must recognize that equal is equal, both directions.
What do you suppose the uproar would have been if a previous Justice Department dropped a prosecution of members of the Ku Klux Klan, despite a video showing them standing outside the polling place in a black neighborhood in their white robes, and carrying a cross and a noose?
Why is this different? It isn't.
Obama's Attorney General, Eric Holder, has been found in criminal contempt of Congress after refusing to turn over documents relating to the botched Fast and Furious program, in which government agents deliberately permitted weapons to be sold to persons with the expectation that they would make their way across the Mexican border and into the hands of Mexican drug cartels. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was later murdered, on US soil, in Arizona, with one of those weapons - two were found at the murder scene.
And Obama claimed Executive Privilege in connection with those documents, making him complicit in the obstruction of justice.

“He has erected a multitude of New Officers, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.”
Barack Obama has appointed at least 32 new ‘czars’ who report to no one but him, with no approval or oversight by Congress, nor any of the other checks and balances put in place by our Founding Fathers to keep all branches of government in check by the others. He has absolutely no authority to do this, yet no one is stopping him, and we're all being forced to pay their salaries with our tax dollars.
I read recently that with the passage of Obamacare, the IRS will add 17,000 new agents to police compliance.

“He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation.”
At the G20 summit in London in 2009, Barack Obama surrendered U.S. economic sovereignty. Despite the fact that “our gross domestic product is three times that of the second-largest economy (Japan) and equal to that of 13 of the G-20 nations combined” (according to Dick Morris), Obama agreed to “subject our most basic national economic policies to the review of a group of nations that includes autocratic Russia, China and Saudi Arabia.”
Morris went on to say, “We are to sit politely by with our one vote and submit to the global consensus. Europe has five votes (Britain, France, Germany, Italy and the EU), while we have one.” And the whole process is to be administered by the International Monetary Fund.
Obama’s Secretary of State Hillary Clinton recently committed the U.S. to join 152 other nations in support of the Arms Trade Treaty Resolution. Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton has warned American gun owners about the Arms Trade Treaty, and cautions that although the U.N. (and the Obama Administration) are claiming it is “really just a treaty about international arms trade between nation states, . . . there’s no doubt that the real agenda here is domestic firearms control.”
And if that’s not enough for you, let’s go back to the new Arizona immigration law and the lawsuits against it. On July 1, 2010, the Associated Press reported that a federal judge has granted Mexico’s request to file a legal brief in one of the lawsuits challenging the law. Mexico claims that it wants to “defend its citizens’ rights.”
Excuse me? This means that a federal judge has permitted a foreign government to attack one of the United States in federal court! An attack on one state by a foreign power is an attack on all, and it is the duty of all 49 other states to join in defending the one attacked. That's exactly what the United States of America means.

“For imposing Taxes on us without our consent.”
Obamacare, Obama's healthcare plan, was opposed by 75% of the American people, yet it was crammed through by a Democrat-controlled Congress, without being read, and can only be paid for through more taxes.
“For suspending our own Legislatures . . .”
Arizona’s legislature passed the immigration enforcement law to protect its citizens, and King Obama is attacking Arizona’s right to protect its citizens when the federal government refuses to enforce its own laws.
“He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection, and waging War against us.”
That sounds amazingly similar, to those who live in Arizona.

“He has plundered our seas, ravaged our Coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.”
Gulf of Mexico, BP oil gusher. He has also ravaged our banking industry and our auto industry, completely without authority to do so, in addition to our health care industry.

“In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.”

“We, therefore, the Representatives of the united States of America, . . . do, in the Name, and by the Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare, That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States. . . . And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.”
