Scared American

How do you interpret the constitution?

In a 2001 Chicago radio interview Obama states "The Supreme Court of the 1960's didn't break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution, at least as it has been interpreted. The Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth and sort of basic issues of political and economic justice in this society."

The Constitution makes clear what the government can't do, but Obama says "it doesn't say what the federal or state government must do on your behalf."

So . . . Obama believes that the Constitution restrains us from doing certain things, such as the redistribution of wealth and creating government dependence. That is exactly what the Constitution is supposed to do !!!!!!!

Obama believes that the Constitution is a "living" document that means whatever contemporary society says it means. We can give it our own meaning at any given time - that attitude alone renders the Constitution useless.

It is scary to think that he and so many others can have the attitude that the U.S. owes us a living and more.

His comments tell us how far left the Democratic Party has gone since John F. Kennedy said in a famous speech, "Ask not what your country can do for you . . . ask what you can do for your country".

What you can do for your country very soon is help keep this man out of the White House. God help us if he wins.
